movable and wireless device maker Research In Motion posts surprisingly strong quarterly earnings and offers a rosy outlook that signals further growth despite the comprehensive economic slowdown as consumers embrace the newest RIM BlackBerry smartphones. RIM now has a total of about 25 million BlackBerry subscribers. These results send the company’s shares about 21 percent higher in after-hours trade.
